The answer is...not enough! I have to get sewing if I'm going to finish the projects I have in mind.
This week I have two finishes, yippee!
Four quilted placemats, made using Jennifer's pattern at Ellison Lane Quilts, you can find the pattern here .
Here's the front
and the backs
I talked about these yesterday.
I also finished the I Spy quilt.
The quilt turned out larger than expected, like all my projects! I planned twin size, it's for snuggling on the couch. It is 80" by 90" inches! It was fun to make, and the best is, I still have squares to make baby quilts in the future!
The fabric came yesterday for my MIL's lap quilt. And this time I mean to stick to those dimensions!
I'm sorting the layer cake into piles for cutting:
The pattern is from Moda Bake Shop, called Blissful Confection
When this is finished I want to make more placemats, but more Christmas-y.
Linking to WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced, where there are always great projects to look at.
Till next time,
Sue

ReplyDeleteNot enough sewing days left until Christmas is right! Your I-Spy quilt is so much fun, I love colorful scrappy quilts!
ReplyDeletefront and back? those placemats are both fronts! totally reversible, love it!
ReplyDeleteOh, I love the placemats! Front AND back. Way to go. :)
ReplyDeleteThere's definitely a lot to spy on that beautiful quilt!
ReplyDeleteI totally understand your feelings about not enough time to finish projects! What a great idea to have an "I Spy" quilt that would keep a little one very busy indeed!
ReplyDeleteI hope that there are sufficient sewing days, whatever that means. I love your quilt, it is so bright and fun!
ReplyDeleteFound your blog Sue! The placemats are perfect! Front and back!
ReplyDeleteI think I will check out that moda pattern too. : )

I should take a page out of your book and get cracking on Christmas stuff. I love the placemats and what gorgeous fabric you have there--like the backs too! I am sadly in need of new placemats and I certainly have enough fabric and scraps of batting to whip up a few myself--now you've got me thinking about it!
ReplyDeleteTerrific idea on that I Spy--so much better than the hexagons I have cut out in the drawer from ages and ages ago--couldn't bear the thought of all that piecing. Making nine-patches is sooo much smarter.

ReplyDeleteYour place-mats and I spy quilt are awesome!!!!! Good luck with all of your Christmas sewing.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about not enough sewing days before gifts are to be ready. Sleep is an optional thing in life right? Just like work is? Wishing you lots of sewing time!
ReplyDeleteI really like how your I-spy quilt turned out, the sashing looks great!! I can't get over how quickly Christmas is sneaking up on us this year, too!
ReplyDeleteThe I Spy is a delight to look at :) And I just love the fabric you used for the background on the placemats.
ReplyDeleteyou are right....not enough! There are so many things I want to get made besides 3 quilts. Hot pads, placemats, a baby quilt, 2 more rugs....I was even supposed to be crocheting some Creepy Critters too.
ReplyDeleteGreat presents! I have to get cracking with mine. Just might have to add in placemats now...
ReplyDeleteNever enough days 'till Christmas. It looks like you've got a good start, though.
ReplyDeleteWow, 80" x 90" ?! That is one amazingly big quilt! Good luck with your MIL's lap quilt
